Katie MacDonald - Bike the US for MS
It's official! As of last month, I am officially a part of the 2016 Bike the US for MS Northern Tier team. This is something I have been thinking about doing for almost a year now, and it feels so amazing to be officially starting my journey with Bike the US for MS! Next summer, I will be joining the Northern Tier team on a cross-country cycling journey that will take me from Bar Harbor, Maine to Seattle, Washington - a total of 4,295 miles over the course of 69 days. The purpose of this trip is to raise money and awareness for multiple sclerosis (MS), which is a devastating disease that affects roughly 400,000 people in the US, and over 2.5 million people worldwide. Each cyclist on the team will raise a minimum of a dollar per mile to help support people living with MS, as well as to help fund research focusing on the disease. If you would like to help me meet my fundraising goal, you can donate here, or send a cheque payable to "Bike the US for MS" with "Katie MacDonald" in the memo line to the following address: Bike the US for MS PO Box 10001 Blacksburg, VA, 24062 Special shout out to Alice, Katherine & Nic, Jeff, and Joe for being the first few people to donate to the cause! I really appreciate your support :)
Thanks for reading! Keep checking in on this blog to hear more about training, fundraising, and other preparations before the ride, as well as pictures and stories once I start cycling on May 28, 2016. Only 175 days until I head to Bar Harbor!

August 2017 I connected the dots and biked from Seattle to San Francisco. Summer 2018 I am heading to the UK! Follow my journey here! Miles biked for MS:
